U.S. Congressmen Christopher Smith and Lidia Velasquez pleaded with the Government Minister Carlos Romero, freedom of compatriot Jacob Ostreicher, who is being held for 18 months in jail Palmasola.
"On December 4, according to Bolivian law, Mr. Jacob Ostreicher, should regain their freedom because it took 18 months of detention," said Lidia Velasquez, congressman from New York.
U.S. Congressmen met with Minister Romero and after an hour left Smith and Velasquez. "Human rights have no borders," said Smith, who reiterated the call for freedom for Jacob Ostreicher, arrested for alleged links with the Brazilian drug trafficker Maximiliano Dorado.
