A bolivian woman wins prize for painting in Spain

With a portrait inspired by an old woman potosina who she saw in the Plaza Murillo of the La Paz city, the bolivian artist Rosmery Mamani won second prize in a contest sponsored by the Spanish group painters ASPAS.

"I'm very happy. I think that is a joy to the country and I think that is incredible because the grandmasters participated, especially of Europe, "Mamani said, adding that" it is an honor that an Indian woman and of the people "can compete with prominent artists plastic.

The recognition  


The winning entry is called "Horizontes II". It is inspired by an elderly woman, a native of Potosí and that arrived in La Paz to beg.

The prize is $ 100, a certificate and publication of the image of the painting in a book in the next edition.

However, beyond these awards, the young artist insists that the most valuable thing is "to have been chosen among the best in the world."
