Chile reiterates that they will not give to Bolivia an outlet to the sea

Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno reiterated the impossibility of giving "a sovereign part" of his country so that Bolivia has an outlet to the Pacific Ocean.

"The opinion of our country is that Chile will not change. There is not provision of Chile and the Government to give a portion to another country, "said Moreno.

"Moreover, there is no example in modern history of a country that will give away another piece of its territory," he said Chilean Foreign Minister.

Chile don't have border problems with Bolivia, but They have a mutually deal, referring to the peace and friendship treaty signed by both countries in 1904 that ended the war waged two decades earlier, in which he also participated Peru.

Proceeds from this war, Bolivia lost part of its territory and its sea access.

Bolivia argued that the agreement was signed under duress and Chile haven't fulfilled by the neighboring country.

Chilean Foreign Minister reiterated that "what happens  depends on Bolivia" while the Bolivian government has already established the path to achieve their demands heard and aims to present an international claim against Chile to achieve a sovereign access to the Pacific Ocean.

In early December 2012, President Evo Morales sent a delegation to The Hague to attend the hearing of the dispute between Peru and Chile over maritime boundaries, then said that the preparation of the application "is almost over."
