U.S. urges justice for Ostreicher

United States through its embassy in Bolivia sought to do justice to the businessman Jacob Ostreicher, and feared for his health.

"We hope that justice will be done soon," said U.S. Charge d'Affaires Larry Memmott, the senior diplomatic authority in Bolivia, as both countries lack ambassadors since 2008.

Ostreicher was arrested in June 2011, accused by a group of government lawyers and prosecutors to launder money from drug dealer, Brazilian Maximiliano Dorado, arrested in December 2011 and returned to his country on that date.

The employer claimed innocence and said an employee, the Colombian Claudia Liliana Rodriguez, also dam, cheated and bought land to plant more rice Dorado.
